Collection System

A museum that ate your items. Permanently sacrifice gear to unlock stat bonuses. 506 collections, items deleted forever, bonuses shared across your entire account.

How It Worked

Drag items into collection slots. Watch them vanish. Complete a collection, receive a passive stat bonus. Repeat 505 more times.

Items were permanently destroyed:

  • Cannot be recovered
  • Cannot be traded
  • Cannot be used
  • Gone from existence

Distorted Gameplay

Collections turned endgame players into low-level farmers. Instead of optimizing gear and hunting challenging content, veterans spent hours:

  • Farming specific low-tier mobs for collection items
  • Buying cheap gear just to destroy it
  • Running old content for outdated drops

The “optimal” path wasn’t getting stronger gear - it was completing collection #347 for +15 P.Atk. Endgame became a checklist of sacrifice, not a pursuit of power.

The Account-Wide Problem

Collections were shared across all characters on an account. A veteran creates a new alt. At level 1, before killing a single monster, that character has:

  • +2,127 P.Atk / +2,059 M.Atk
  • +3,549 P.Def / +3,475 M.Def
  • +1,662 Max HP / +1,810 Max MP / +1,512 Max CP
  • +165 Attack Speed / +165 Casting Speed
  • +10% Crit Rate / +15% M.Crit Rate / +1,304 Crit Damage
  • +3 STR / +3 INT / +7 CON / +7 MEN / +2 DEX / +2 WIT
  • +86% Exp Gain / -10% Skill Cooldown / -17% MP Cost

A new player’s level 1 character has none of this.

The veteran’s throwaway alt would out-damage, out-tank, and out-level any new player - probably by a factor of 20. Before any gear, any skills, any gameplay. Just by existing on an old account.

Punishing Mistakes

Items appeared in multiple collections. New players would:

  1. See an item fits Collection A
  2. Donate it
  3. Discover it was needed for Collection B (better rewards)
  4. Too late - gone forever

No warnings. No undo. Permanent regret.

On L2Cruma, your items stay yours. Your stats come from playing, not sacrificing gear to a checklist. New players and veterans start on equal ground.
