Enchant Challenge Points

A system that gave paying players higher enchant success rates. Removed entirely.

How It Worked

Challenge Points were earned when enchants failed on specific item categories:

  • Rare Accessories (Queen Ant’s Ring, Baium’s Ring, etc.)
  • Talismans (Talisman of Aden, Authority, Eva, Speed)
  • Special Equipment (Cloaks, Circlets, Belts)

Points could be spent on enchanting bonuses:

The Pay-to-Win Problem

The system had two ways to earn points:

Free players: Fail enchants → earn small amounts of points → eventually afford one bonus

Paying players: Buy Challenge Point Coupons from the L-Coin Shop → instant +20 or +50 points → stack bonuses immediately

The result: whales enchanted with boosted success rates while free players gambled at base odds. Same enchant scroll, different outcomes based on wallet size.

The Psychological Trap

Challenge Points created a false sense of fairness. “You get something when you fail!” sounds generous until you realize:

  1. You still lost the item
  2. The points barely compensate for the loss
  3. Paying players skip the loss entirely by buying points directly
  4. The system trained players to see P2W as “catch-up mechanics”

Failed enchants weren’t softened by Challenge Points - they were monetized by them.

Item Categories

Points only worked on premium items - the gear players cared most about:

Rare Accessories: Epic jewelry from raid bosses worth weeks of effort Talismans: End-game accessories with powerful effects Special Equipment: Cloaks, circlets, belts - the gear that defined builds

Regular weapons and armor? No Challenge Points. The system targeted the items where failure hurt most.
