Sayune Teleports
An aerial flight system where your character glided along pre-defined paths between zones. Other players watched you fly overhead. It looked cool in trailers. It added nothing to gameplay.
How It Worked
- Walk into a Sayune zone
- Click the UI prompt
- Watch your character fly
- Pick a destination at branching points
- Land somewhere
Visible journey instead of instant teleport. Sounds nice, works poorly.
Slower Than Just Teleporting
Regular teleports are instant. Sayune made you watch an animation. For players who value their time, this was a downgrade disguised as a feature.
Heavy Restrictions
Couldn’t use Sayune while:
- Having a summoned pet or servitor
- In PK state
- Casting, attacking, or doing almost anything else
A teleport system unusable when you actually need to move quickly.
Fixed Routes Only
Unlike teleports where you choose your destination, Sayune locked you into pre-defined paths. Pick the wrong branch? Fly somewhere you didn’t want to go.
Client Performance
The L2 client wasn’t built for fast aerial movement. Flying through zones caused:
- Lag spikes
- Stuttering
- Terrain loading issues
- Object pop-in
Technical problems for a purely cosmetic feature.
On L2Cruma, travel is instant. No animations. No fixed routes. Need to be somewhere? You’re there.
