Ensoul System
Add special effects to weapons through RNG crystal crafting. Bonuses stuck to each weapon permanently. Combined with Augmentation, this created the same weapon-swapping nightmare - except now you needed to grind soul crystals too.
The Grind Loop
- Farm Soul Crystals from specific monsters
- Combine crystals with RNG success rates
- Hope for the SA you actually need
- Repeat on failure

Best SAs had worst rates. Expect dozens of failed attempts for optimal effects.
Stuck Forever
Once applied, SAs couldn’t be extracted or transferred:
- Upgrade weapons? Re-farm SAs from scratch
- Want different effect? Start over
- Made a mistake? Too bad
Every weapon upgrade reset your SA progress. The grind never ended.
The Weapon Arsenal Problem
Like augmentation, SA bonuses only applied while equipped. Optimal play meant multiple weapons:
