Enchanting Guide

Enchanting is the main progression system on L2Cruma. Gear is free from the GM Shop - the game is about enchanting it.

The Basics

Every S-grade weapon, armor piece, and jewel can be enchanted using scrolls. Each successful enchant adds +1 to the item and increases its PvP and PvE damage bonuses. The maximum enchant is +100, though most players operate in the +16 to +30 range.

Enchant bonuses are percentage-based. A +10 weapon deals +25% PvP damage and +50% PvE damage. A +24 weapon deals +60% PvP and +120% PvE. The bonuses are linear, smooth, and predictable - no sudden jumps at specific thresholds.

Scrolls

ScrollCostSource
Scroll: Enchant Weapon (S-grade)1,000,000 AdenaMerchant of Mammon
Scroll: Enchant Armor (S-grade)500,000 AdenaMerchant of Mammon
Scroll: Enchant Armor (A-grade)400,000 AdenaMerchant of Mammon
Blessed Scroll: Enchant Weapon (S-grade)20 Donation CoinsMerchant of Mammon
Blessed Scroll: Enchant Armor (S-grade)10 Donation CoinsMerchant of Mammon

Blessed scrolls add +10% to the success rate but cap at the same max enchant as normal scrolls. They save time and scrolls - they don’t let you reach a higher ceiling.

Success Rates

Enchant success rates follow a smooth -2% per level gradient above the safe zone:

  • +3 and below: 100% guaranteed (both scroll types)
  • +4: 92% normal, 100% blessed
  • +10: 80% normal, 90% blessed
  • +20: 60% normal, 70% blessed
  • +24: 52% normal, 62% blessed
  • +30: 40% normal, 50% blessed
  • +40 and above: 20% normal, 30% blessed (floor)

Each level of risk beyond +3 reduces success by exactly 2%. No artificial rate walls or sudden cliffs.

The Crystallized Safety Net

When an enchant fails, the item is not destroyed. Instead, it crystallizes:

  • Keeps its full stats
  • Keeps its enchant level (the level it was at before the failed attempt)
  • Becomes unenchantable (cannot be enchanted further)
  • Becomes untradeable (bound to your character)

You can wear crystallized gear, store it, and use it as a permanent floor - you can never fall below your best enchant on that item type. The server keeps the best crystallized version per item slot, automatically deleting lower ones when you surpass them.

When an item crystallizes, you also receive Crystal items (A-grade or S-grade depending on the item). These crystals are the currency for upgrading Brooch Gems - a secondary progression path that grants permanent stat bonuses.

Mass Enchanting

In practice, players don’t enchant one item at a time. The mass enchant workflow:

  1. Buy 10-15 copies of the same weapon from Merchant of Mammon (free)
  2. Buy scrolls from Merchant of Mammon - as many as you can afford
  3. Open the mass enchant UI and queue all copies
  4. Each copy consumes one scroll - successes advance, failures crystallize
  5. Repeat rounds until you run out of scrolls or Adena
  6. Keep the best result, equip it, sell or discard the rest

Enchant runs are spending sprees. Players farm Adena, then spend 10-30 minutes buying and enchanting in bulk until broke.

Brooch Gems (Secondary Progression)

Crystals from failed enchants feed the Brooch Gem upgrade system. Six gem types, each with 10 tiers:

GemBonus at Tier 10
AmberSpeed +10, Skill Cooldown -10%
OpalDebuff Resistance +10%
CoralAttack Speed +10%, Casting Speed +10%
OnyxP.Atk +10%, M.Atk +20%
SpinelMax HP +10%, Max CP +10%, Max MP +10%
ZirconP.Def +10%, M.Def +10%

Gem tiers scale exponentially in cost. Tier 10 requires ~32 million S-grade Crystals plus the Tier 9 gem. This creates a long-term progression path that rewards aggressive enchanting.

Quick Tips

  • Don’t settle for +16. Crystallized items mean you always keep your best attempt. Push higher - there’s no risk of losing everything.
  • Enchant in bulk. Single attempts are statistically painful. Mass enchanting smooths out variance.
  • Blessed scrolls are for high targets. Below +16, normal scrolls are more economical. Save blessed scrolls for pushing +20 and beyond.
  • Crystals are not waste. Every failed enchant feeds your Brooch Gems. Nothing on this server is wasted.
  • The crystallized system means your only regret is not trying. The worst case is you end up exactly where you started.
